To properly refinish a piece, several steps must be performed to prepare the metal prior to the actual plating process. This is the only way to be assured of a First Class job.

Sandbob

Removal of all deep scratches and metal imperfections.

Buff

Fine finishing of base metal prior to polishing.

Polish

Giving the metal a mirror bright finish using the finest rouge & softest wheels.

Plate

We use only 24K goldplate and fine silver silverplate.

Final Polish &
Inspection

To enhance your heirloom after plating, we give the piece a final polish and inspect it with white cotton gloves before it leaves our facility.

At Patrick Gill, we never lacquer cups or chalice patens. Lacquer is used by other companies to temporarily protect a light plate.
