Artisan Membership Criteria

The Artisan category, which is juried, is reserved for only those silversmiths residing in the United States. If you are interested in applying, please submit:

1. AT LEAST 6 slides or photographs of sterling or fine silver (not plated) holloware, flatware, and/or sculpture demonstrating outstanding technical mastery. Firestain, buffing drag lines, pitted solder joints, unintentional file marks, and poor construction are unacceptable;

2. your resume;

3. you must be out of school with an established shop or smithing within a company.

Your work will be juried by three Artisan members of SAS on the merits of your overall talent as a silversmith.  You will be informed within eight weeks as to the decision of the jury. Please do not send the $45. Artisan membership fee until you hear from us. If you do not yet meet the Artisan criteria, you are welcome to join as a Supporting member at this time.
